Rangers Lose By a Run at New York
|
Seung-mo Kym had a strong outing for the New York Mets against the Texas Rangers at Citi Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-1 win. Kym, now 3-9, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. New York sits in last place in the National League East Division at 40-51.
The Rangers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Mets going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the three-time All-Star Grant Goff came to the plate. Goff hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 curveball from Texas hurler Darius Shaheed. It was Goff's 22nd double of the year.
"Tough loss," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi. "But we'll rebound from it."
