Mariners Improve to 59-33 with 7-3 Win
|
Philadelphia right fielder Vicente Vargas had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-3, to Seattle at Citizens Bank Park. Vargas went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Danny Enriquez, now 4-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Seattle bumps their record to 59-33 with the win.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Omar Perez? The Seattle left fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mariners on top, 3-2. For the game, Perez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Perez called the win "a collective effort."
