Angels Claim 4-2 Win
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and Washington Nationals.
The Washington Nationals got a sterling performance from first baseman Joaquin Reyes, but the Los Angeles Angels still prevailed, 4-2. Reyes went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jimmy Powell got the save, the 9th for him this season.
Los Angeles used the hitting of David Elson to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Angels on top, 4-2. For the game, Elson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Elson.
Los Angeles is now 45-47, while Washington is 48-47.
