Brewers Knock Off Giants at AT&T Park
|
Behind an impressive start by Jay Garza, Milwaukee beat San Francisco, 6-1. Garza yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-6. The Brewers, at 45-47, sit in 4th place in the National League Central Division.
Milwaukee third baseman Matt Tennant contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 2-0.
Tennant attributed the triumph to "a good team effort."
