The Houston Astros overcame a pretty good performance by Cleveland center fielder Eduardo Roman, beating the Guardians, 8-4, at Progressive Field. Roman went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Houston bumps their record to 46-50 with the win.

Mario Alvarado had a big 3-run home run for the Astros in the top of the seventh inning. With Houston leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Kurt Lawson and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Astros on top, 8-2.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Alvarado.
