Padres Handed 4-1 Loss by San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Giants beat the San Diego Padres, 4-1, at AT&T Park. Starting pitcher Chase Allen was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. San Francisco is now 52-43.
Ivan Escalante had a big run-scoring double for the Giants in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Bryant Sprague and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-1.
Escalante called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
