San Francisco Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
No one was more impactful than Eric Mathews in the 6-5 San Francisco win over San Diego. Mathews went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. San Francisco pitcher Men Pimentel got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Josh Morse got the loss. San Francisco, at 46-49, sits in 4th place in the National League West Division.
San Francisco got a jolt from Chris Allen. The pinch hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it brought the house down.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Allen.
