Blue Jays Clipped, 4-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays got a sterling performance from pitcher Steve Makeever, but the Chicago White Sox still prevailed, 4-3. Makeever threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Chicago reliever Jason Brown picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Jay Courtney absorbed the loss. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 66-30.
Chicago got a clutch hit from Leo Lepe. The left fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Lepe said.
