Washington starter Kyle Barr had a strong outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Curt Tupper converted his 21st save in 25 tries. The third-place Nationals improved to 47-51.
Barr, who was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, threw 97 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing 1 run.
