Athletics Fall, 10-1, to Hendry, Mariners
|
Evan Hendry was a vital contributor to the 10-1 Seattle victory over Oakland. The Mariners left fielder went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tony Walsh earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 9-7. The Mariners improved their record to 42-55 with the win over Oakland.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Safeco Field seemed to enjoy watching the American League action.
"The Mariners definitely had our number," said Oakland manager Jon Pearson.
