Yankees Earn 4-3 Win Versus Giants
|
In a tight contest at Yankee Stadium, the New York Yankees edged the San Francisco Giants by the score of 4-3. New York third baseman Hugo Vitagliano, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. New York reliever Ben McKie was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Justin Gage. New York is 39-57 and San Francisco, with the loss, 46-52.
New York got a knockout punch from Nick Rich. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"What a great game, great atmosphere," Vitagliano said.
