Royals Use Late Rally to Win 4th Straight
|
The Cleveland Guardians got a superb performance from pitcher Greg Pence, but the Kansas City Royals still won the game, 5-3. Pence threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. The third-place Royals have won 4 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Fernando Andino? The 23-year old second baseman Andino stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Kansas City up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Royals manager Connor Gould.
