Cleveland left fielder Bill Widby had a good game, even if his team did not. The Guardians dropped a 7-4 decision to Kansas City at Progressive Field. Widby went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Matt Heidt, the winner, improved to 6-10. He held the Guardians to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. The victory gives Kansas City a record of 51-48.

The Royals got a big at-bat from shortstop Chris Gosdin. For the game, Gosdin went 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
