Blue Jays Reel Off Another Win
|
Good production from third baseman Brian Jones helped the Toronto Blue Jays topple the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3. Jones went 2-3 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. The win belongs to Bryan Bassett in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Matt Bell took the loss for Cincinnati. The save went to Victor Urueta, number 4 for him.
Ricky Ulloa dealt the Reds a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with the bases loaded and Toronto leading 1-0, Ulloa hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"It was a solid team effort," Ulloa said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
The Blue Jays are now 65-33, while the Reds fall to 65-32.
