Rockies Score Late, Top Braves, 10-3
|
The Atlanta Braves got a sterling performance from pitcher Bill Black, but the Colorado Rockies still prevailed, 10-3. Black threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. With the win, the Rockies improved to 50-47.
Colorado used the clutch hitting of Mike Woodard to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Rockies the lead, 4-3. For the game, Woodard had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Woodard told the Colorado Today.
