New York Sent Home with 7-3 Loss
|
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the New York Mets, 7-3, in National League action at Miller Park. Milwaukee pitcher Mike Cerretani had a standout performance. Cerretani picked up the win for Milwaukee, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-9. Ricardo Baeza picked up the save for Milwaukee, his 10th of the year.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from first baseman Josh Nightingale. For the game, Nightingale was 2-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 6th triple of the season gave Milwaukee a 3-1 lead.
Nightingale attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
The Brewers move to 40-58 with the win, while the Mets drop to 45-53.
