Phillies Handle Cardinals, 4-0
|
Cesar Quinteros had an impact in the 4-0 Philadelphia win over St. Louis. The 23-year old first baseman was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Adrian Giraldo picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Trent Vaccaro took the loss. Philadelphia is now 56-44. St. Louis is 36-64.
Quinteros had a key at-bat for Philadelphia early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and gave Philadelphia an early 2-0 lead.
Quinteros called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
