Guardians Defeat Mariners, 4-2
|
The Cleveland Guardians tallied a win at Safeco Field, throttling the Seattle Mariners, 4-2. Starting pitcher Art Tesar was a big reason for his team's success. Cleveland is 55-45 and Seattle, with the loss, 63-36.
Cleveland needed the clutch hitting of Matt Cleary to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Guardians on top, 4-2. For the game, Cleary had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Big win," said Cleary.
