Mets Handle Braves, Nab 5-3 Win
Grant Goff left his imprint on the 5-3 New York win against the Atlanta Braves. Goff, who is a three-time All-Star, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. John Rood earned the save, his 25th. The last-place Mets have a record of 46-53.

The Braves had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Mets going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old shortstop Tom Ferrell came to the plate. Ferrell hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 splitter from Atlanta hurler Chris Snodgrass. It was Ferrell's 9th home run of the year.

"I put some good swings on the ball," said Goff.
