6-2 Loss to Braves Extends New York Losing Streak
The Atlanta Braves topped the New York Mets, 6-2, with left fielder Bill Lindberg playing a big role. Lindberg went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Braves in the win. Picking up the save was Tim Hall, his 3rd. The Braves raised their record to 50-52.

With Atlanta leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Lindberg batted against New York pitcher Seung-mo Kym. Lindberg hit a fastball to right-center for a 2-run triple. His 6th triple of the season put the Braves on top, 4-1.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Braves manager Dan Hoagland.
