Mets Snatch Late Win
|
The New York Mets took on the Atlanta Braves at Coca-Cola Field.
John Stinson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2108 draft, had a 4-RBI night to help the New York Mets down the Atlanta Braves, 8-5. The winner in relief was Bert Reed. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. Chris Horan was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities.
In the top of the eighth, Stinson put his team in front with his 10th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Willie Ortiz, made it 8-5, New York.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Stinson told the New York Citizen.
The Mets saw their record improve to 43-60.
