The Houston Astros got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mark Gaither, who stifled the Minnesota offense en route to a 3-1 Astros win at Target Field. Gaither picked up the win for Houston, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-5. Guillermo Padron notched his 28th save in 32 chances.
Josh Otis, the 29-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Otis contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Houston up, 2-0.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Gaither told the Houston Citizen.
Houston now sits at 55-50, while Minnesota falls to 56-49.
