Cubs Deal Reds 4-2 Loss
The Chicago Cubs faced a tough opponent in Cincinnati pitcher Jason Mele, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Great American Ball Park by a final score of 4-2. Mele went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Andrew Gray picked up his 31st save of the season. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 59-44.

Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Manuel Jimenez to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Jimenez said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
