Cardinals 4-1 Victors Over Yankees
|
The St. Louis Cardinals downed the New York Yankees, 4-1, at Busch Stadium. Stellar pitching by A.J. Burrows had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, the first overall pick in the 2112 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. St. Louis is now 52-52. New York is 39-64.
John Dunn recorded a big out in the top of the ninth. The Yankees were trailing 4-1, but New York had runners on 1st and 2nd with no one out. Dunn threw a 2-2 curveball to Dan Bowman, who hit into a double play.
