Giants Stick Phillies with 4-0 Loss
|
The San Francisco Giants went home winners at AT&T Park, thanks in large part to starter Chris Martin. Martin stifled the Philadelphia Phillies, enabling San Francisco to grab the 4-0 win. Martin went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 11-2. With the win, San Francisco pushed its record to 69-35.
Josh Packard dealt the Phillies a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and San Francisco leading 1-0, Packard hit a 1-1 cutter for a 2-run single.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Packard told the San Francisco Citizen.
