The San Francisco Giants beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5, at AT&T Park. Orlando Chavez, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. At 36-67, San Francisco is in last place in the National League West Division.

San Francisco took a 5-4 lead on Chavez's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off John Speer in the bottom of the seventh, propelled San Francisco to the win.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chavez. "And not try to do too much."
