Giants Clipped, 4-2
|
Philadelphia took on San Francisco in front of a lively crowd.
The Philadelphia Phillies faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher Men Pimentel, but did just enough to pull out the victory at AT&T Park by a final score of 4-2 in 13 innings. Pimentel went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Phillies have a record of 50-55.
Philadelphia used the clutch hitting of Jaden Haynes to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Phillies ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
Philadelphia manager John Lucidi was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
