The 14-3 Minnesota win over Houston was due largely to Kyle Eby. The Twins left fielder went 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice. Matt Doering got the win, improving to 3-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Minnesota goes to 60-47, Houston to 49-58.

Minnesota right fielder Daniel Pereyra contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 62nd hit of the season and put the Twins ahead, 6-3.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling.
