Reds Wrest Win from Nationals, 5-4
The Cincinnati Reds downed the Washington Nationals, 5-4. The hitting star was third baseman Erik Schmidt. Schmidt was 2 for 2 with a triple and a walk for the Reds. Cincinnati pitcher Israel Castillo got the win. He's now 7-4. Dave Driskill was tagged with the loss. Cincinnati, at 70-35, is 11 games up in the National League Central Division.

Steve Carbone was the walk-off hero for Cincinnati. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Reds first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Carbone said.
