Cardinals Walk Off with 5-1 Win
|
Cardinals fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The exploits of first baseman Ryan Collier, who is on pace to hit 37 home runs this season, helped the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the New York Yankees, 5-1. Collier was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Cardinals sport a record of 40-66.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Collier hit a fastball from Brandon Moore for a grand slam home run. The Cardinals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Collier said.
