The Boston Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Alex Tarango. Tarango went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Red Sox on the day. The Red Sox now own a record of 55-52.

The Angels had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Red Sox going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old catcher Mark Fasciana came to the plate.
