Twins Need Extra Frames to Get Past Guardians
|
Cleveland got a terrific game from center fielder Bill Barnie. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Minnesota, 9-7, in 11 innings. Barnie went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Minnesota occupies second place in the American League Central Division at 61-47.
Jason Duren came through with a big-time hit for Minnesota. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 9-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Duren.
