Blue Jays Clonk Red Sox, 8-6
|
Ramon Anguiano knocked in 3 runs to help Toronto beat Boston, 8-6. Anguiano produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Ivan Juarez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. The triumph puts Toronto at 71-37 for the season.
Anguiano had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from William Stuck, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Blue Jays a 8-6 lead. It was the 10th double of the year for Anguiano.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Anguiano, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
