The Las Vegas Hustle earned a close win over the San Diego Padres, thanks in part to Elijah Blackwell. The Las Vegas right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. In 5.2 innings, Blackwell surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up his 32nd save was 29-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan McLellan.

Israel del Valle hit a 2-run triple off Nate Seiler in the top of the second, which put the Hustle in front, 2-1. del Valle had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.

"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Blackwell.

The first-place Hustle, at 72-37, now lead their division by 9 games.
