In a low-scoring affair between the Minnesota Twins and the Las Vegas Hustle, pitcher Dean Schuurmans was the difference between victory and defeat. The Minnesota left-hander earned kudos in the 1-0 Twins win. Minnesota pitcher Roberto Aranda got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Steve Boothby got the loss. Carlos Mella earned his 15th save, after closing out the game.

Minnesota took a 1-0 lead on Jason Duren's 18th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Duren hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Las Vegas pitcher Steve Boothby visibly frustrated.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Schuurmans.

The Twins sit in second place in the American League Central Division with a record of 63-48.
