Nationals Topple Reds, 5-3
|
Washington rode a decent outing from starter Kyle Barr to victory over the Cincinnati Reds. The final score was 5-3. Curt Tupper closed the door for Washington, picking up his 22nd save of the year. Washington's record now stands at 54-58, placing them 4th in the National League East Division.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from first baseman Bubba Main. For the game, Main went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 34th home run of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Main.
