Royals Beat Dodgers, 8-3
|
No one was more impactful than Antonio Alvarez in the 8-3 Kansas City win over Los Angeles. Alvarez, who is tied for 8th in the AL in RBI with 70, went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Mike Mask. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 1. At 55-56, Kansas City is in third place in the American League Central Division.
With Kansas City trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Alvarez hit a cutter from Tommy Harris for a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 2-1.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Alvarez told the Kansas City Herald.
