Late Magic Gets Boston 3-2 Win
The Boston Red Sox faced a tough opponent in Oakland pitcher Ray Gehring, but did just enough to pull out the victory at O.co Coliseum by a final score of 3-2. Gehring went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever William Stuck picked up the win. His record improves to 3-4. Freddy Hernandez took the loss. Boston is now 63-47. Oakland is 42-69.

Boston used a clutch hit from Tyler Brown to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Michael Meagher, the Boston manager.
