The Houston Astros downed the Seattle Mariners, 9-3, at Safeco Field. Mike Darling led the way, going 2-for-5 for Houston. Houston starter Adam Bailey was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 6-5. The first-place Astros now have a win-loss record of 65-48.

With Houston leading 4-0 in the top of the sixth, Darling came up to bat against Seattle pitcher Jimmy Cox. Darling hit a changeup to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Astros on top, 7-0.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Darling.
