San Francisco Sent Home with 5-1 Loss
|
No one was more impactful than Justin Brown in the 5-1 St. Louis win over San Francisco. Brown, who is on pace for 106 RBI this season, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Bill McEnerney was the winner. He's now 9-5. The loser was 35-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Washburn. The Cardinals go to 56-57, putting them third in the National League Central Division.
In the top of the second, Brown had a 2-run home run for St. Louis. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Cardinals on top, 2-0.
"Justin has some easy pop," said St. Louis manager Leyland Thomas. "He's dangerous."
