Brewers Drop Astros, 2-0
|
Getting an impressive start from Tim Cockfield, Milwaukee beat Houston by the score of 2-0. Cockfield, now 2-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Chris Hellige got the save, his 7th in 9 chances.
The Brewers got an important contribution from first baseman Mikizo Kubo, who in the top of the fourth punched a 2-1 slider into right for a solo home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 2-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Kubo, "and then get after it again."
Milwaukee currently is in 4th place in the National League Central Division at 48-65.
