The Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers completed their game despite the inclement weather.

The Cincinnati Reds topped the Texas Rangers, 8-2, in National League action at Great American Ball Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cincinnati first baseman Justin Pudenz. Mike Rutherford earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 8-8.

In the bottom of the first inning, center fielder Gary Arbogast had a 2-run triple for Cincinnati. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Reds on top, 2-0.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Pudenz.

At 67-45, Cincinnati is in first place in the National League Central Division.
