Diamondbacks Reel In 10-5 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from second baseman Johnny Johnson, who is on pace for 77 RBI this season, led the Arizona Diamondbacks to a win over the Seattle Mariners, 10-5. Mike Gonzales picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 6-13. The victory puts Arizona at 42-72.
Perry Gauvin had a big 3-run home run for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Arizona leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Josh McCurley, the 2nd overall pick in the 2108 draft, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Diamondbacks on top, 8-2.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Gauvin.
