5-1 Loss Deepens San Francisco Funk
|
The St. Louis Cardinals picked up a win at AT&T Park, topping the San Francisco Giants, 5-1. On the mound for St. Louis was right-hander Jason Romanchik. He played a principal role in the triumph. St. Louis is in third place in the National League Central Division with a record of 63-51.
St. Louis used the hitting of Chad Gutshall to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cardinals on top, 3-0. For the game, Gutshall had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Jason didn't beat around the bush," said St. Louis field general Leyland Thomas. "He was all business."
