Citi Field did not lack for drama.

The New York Mets picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the Atlanta Braves, 5-3, in 12 innings. Starting pitcher Miguel Montoya played a key role in the triumph. Gil Hormann was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-4. The losing pitcher was Jaime Cotton.

New York got a clutch hit from Danny Rodriguez. The left fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said New York manager Matt Moore.

The 'W' lifts New York's record to 49-65.
