Mets Slap 3-2 Loss on Los Angeles
|
The New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-2. New York pitcher and Redwood Falls, Minnesota, native Matt Lemke led the way. In 7.1 innings, Lemke surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. The 4th-place Mets now have a record of 54-59.
Brian Taylor, who finished 2nd in the AL in stolen bases with 55 in 2103, had a direct impact on the outcome. Taylor contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put New York up, 2-0.
Said losing manager Giovanni Ciotti: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
