The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at AT&T Park, downing the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-4. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Men Pimentel, who played a pivotal role in the win. After today's action, San Francisco sits at 52-63; St. Louis slips to 63-52.

Had Brad Reichle not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Reichle hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 7-4, in favor of the Giants.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Pimentel told the San Francisco Citizen.
