Mariners Lose to Royals, 7-1
|
Kansas City shortstop Danny Bonilla played a vital role in his team's 7-1 triumph over Seattle. He was 2 for 2 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Kansas City. Kansas City reliever B.J. Edwards picked up the win to move to 7-5. Danny Enriquez suffered the loss. Kansas City is now 52-64.
The Royals got a big at-bat from right fielder Rafael Ochoa. For the game, Ochoa was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Kansas City a 2-1 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bonilla told a Kansas City Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
