Nappi Brilliant as Cardinals Top Giants, 5-0
|
St. Louis pitcher Andy Nappi did his part in helping his team beat the San Francisco Giants, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. St. Louis now sits at 58-57, while San Francisco falls to 49-67.
It was a masterful performance from the popular Nappi, who notched 13 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Nappi, who is tied for 7th in the NL in quality starts with 12, goes to 10-6 on the year with 141 strikeouts.
"Andy was dealing," said St. Louis manager Leyland Thomas.
