The Tampa Bay Rays grabbed a win, 8-7, over the New York Yankees in 10 innings at Yankee Stadium. Tampa Bay first baseman Dan Wimmer was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Merlin Penney picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Zach Rogers, who leads the AL in saves with 38, was tagged with the loss. The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Wimmer delivered big-time for Tampa Bay, stroking a dramatic solo home run off Zach Rogers. The game-changing hit put the Rays on top, 8-7.
