Washington got a decent performance from pitcher Manny Arellano, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles won the Dodger Park contest, 3-2. Arellano threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The win was credited to J.P. Vines in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Manny Arellano took the loss. The Dodgers, at 64-51, sit in third place in the National League West Division.
In the bottom of the sixth, Los Angeles first baseman Victor Salinas gave his team the lead. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Captain Taiwan hit his 11th double of the year. Washington pitcher Manny Arellano surrendered it. With that, the Dodgers jumped in front, 2-1.
"I like to lead by example," said Salinas. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
