Manuel Jimenez did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago Cubs from losing the game, 9-6, to the New York Mets in 10 innings at Wrigley Field. Jimenez hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. New York is now 55-62. Chicago is 65-51.

New York used the clutch hitting of Jason Bottger to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Mets the lead, 8-6. For the game, Bottger had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
