Cincinnati Hot Streak Continues with 5-2 Win
|
Cincinnati pitcher Matt Bell did his part in helping his team beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mike Yates closed the door for Cincinnati, picking up his 15th save of the year. The Reds have now won 7 straight.
Making an impact for the home team was Tim Mercer. In the bottom of the fifth, the 31-year old center fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Reds.
"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Reds manager BJ Gorman.
