With 7-1 Win, Red Sox Improve to 65-52
|
AT&T Park was the site for American League action featuring the San Francisco Giants and Boston Red Sox.
The Boston Red Sox got a strong performance from pitcher Francisco Quintanilla, who stymied the San Francisco offense en route to a win, 7-1, at AT&T Park. Quintanilla got the win, improving to 11-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Quintanilla allowed 1 run.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Marquise Woods? The Boston center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox on top, 4-0. For the game, Woods had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I really like what we did out there today," Woods said after the game.
The Red Sox move to 65-52 with the win, while the Giants drop to 79-39.
