A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Cleveland Guardians and Houston Astros.

Starting pitcher Nick Wise fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Cleveland Guardians stymie the Houston Astros, 6-2. Cleveland is now 54-64, while Houston is 65-53.

Gustavo Franco had a big 3-run home run for the Guardians in the bottom of the first inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Luis Rodas, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a 1.25 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 23rd home run of the season, which put the Guardians on top, 4-0.

Franco said his team "played with determination."
