The Cincinnati Reds topped the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-3, in National League action at Miller Park. The standout performance belonged to Cincinnati pitcher and Buffalo Grove, Illinois, native Dusty Edwards. Edwards, now 7-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Cincinnati has now won 8 games in a row.

Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Dave Truax to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
